Holy moments

A while back, at about 4am, I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep.
After an hour and a half of tossing and turning, I decided to get up and check if the weather was ok to sit outside for some fresh air. So with a pile of blankets ready to wrap myself in, I went and took in the fresh air and meditated on God’s goodness and grace.
The sky wasn’t spectacular in the way I normally think. All I could see were grey clouds. But as I settled my soul and breathed deeply, I became still enough to notice their slow and powerful movement above me.
My attention moved to how beautiful the grey clouds were. They were spectacular and mysterious and moody.
They were alive and moving as if a blanket was slowly and steadily being pulled over to reveal the clear sky of the day.
The beauty was equally in the grey and the clear sky that was being revealed.
And in that moment of wonder,
I fell in love with God all over again.
